how to shine/polish a guitar table after sanding with 1000grit paper?

I just dropped some black super glue on the table of my PRS SE, rubbing alcohol didn't even touch it! Neither did 2500 grit paper so I used 1000 grit paper which removed the glue but has left the surface dull/rough/matt, and the shine has gone!

Is there a way to restore the shine without clear coating the whole thing?

I tried some D'Addario PW-PL-02S Liquid Carnauba with a microfibre cloth without much success, but I only did it briefly!

many thanks!

Go back to your 2500 grit and work the area. You may need to use some interim grits. Then work it with rubbing compound then polishing compound

What Glen says. Go back up the grits from 1000 - 1200, 1500, 2000 and your 2500 (wet). Then polish with a good compound (I use Meguiers #2 and 3) without wax or silicon.

That is a very fine compound and might not be enough to get out 1000 grit, or finer, scratches. You might want to start with a more aggressive cutting compound.

There are a lot of compounds that would work, but this is my preference:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-Mirror-Glaze-Ultra-Cut-Compound/dp/B01LRHDOUC/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=meguiars+105&qid=1602598287&quartzVehicle=106-1339&replacementKeywords=meguiars&sr=8-1

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K2-GOLD-LUST ... 2749.l2649

https://www.premiumhobbies.co.uk/polish ... ng-pad-kit
